315 zooplankton samples from the southern coastal waters of the Crimea peninsula were examined in 1989-1990. Larvae of 13 species of 10 Bivalvia families and 14 species of 12 Gastropoda families were found. Bivalve larvae were the main component of the meroplankton during the whole year. The larval pool was mainly represented by Mytilus galloprovincialis, except in July-August when Mytilaster lineatus dominated. The greatest species richnes of molluscs larvae (27 species) was recorded in July-August, the least species richness (5 species) was noted in January-February. |
