Fluxes of phosphate were mesaured in a small shallow estuary in order to quantify their importance in a cross-section during a tidal cycle. The results show that the estuary act as a sink of phosphate due to the action of the river and the sea, estimating their contribution in 242 µmol m-2 s-1
