First record of Ancistroteuthis lichtensteini (Cephalopoda, Onychoteuthidae) in the European Atlantic waters

This paper is concerned with the finding of an immature female of the species Ancistroteuthis lichtensteini off the Galician coast (NW Spain). This is the first record of the species in European Atlantic waters, and extends its northern latitudinal distribution in the Atlantic Ocean. The geographical distribution of the species is discussed.
