The fishery of the transparent goby, Aphia minuta (Risso, 1810) on the fishing grounds off Murcia (southeastern Spain)

The small-scale fishery for the transparent goby, Aphia minuta (Risso, 1810), off Murcia (southeastern Spain) during three consecutive fishing seasons in the months of December, January, and February (1988189, 1989190, 1990191) is described. Samples were collected and information on length frequency, weight-length relationship, sex ratio, spawning period, and by-catch was recorded, together with information on the technical characteristics of the fleet, catch trends, and expended fishing effort. Initial biomass levels at the beginning of the year and the exploitation rate were calculated for the last fishing season considered.
